Canon: Dragon Ball Z, just after he and Vegeta arrived on Earth.
Age: 50, but with the appearance of a man in his thirties due to Saiyans aging slower after reaching adulthood.
Background Information: Everything up to just before he blows up the city he and Vegeta landed in.
Personality:
1) Tell us about who your character is and what someone’s first impression would be upon meeting them.
The average impression would be of a muscle-headed, somewhat dim, swaggering bully, which would be fairly spot on. Nappa is cruel, proud, and arrogant; he knows Saiyans are stronger than most other species and not afraid to rub that in peoples' faces. Despite being over fifty, he can act rather immature, using taunts and nicknames to insult people. However, his tune quickly changes in the face of someone he knows to be stronger than he is; he was deferential and polite in his dealings with Vegeta, since Vegeta was both his prince and stronger than him, and could be reined in with a simple sharp command.
2) What is a driving force your character has? What goals do they have, what motivates them, etc?
Having become aware of his earth's Dragon Balls, Nappa shares Vegeta's ambition (at the time) to use them to become immortal, as they both saw it as an opportunity to become stronger than Frieza and overthrow him. At his core, Nappa is a man of simple ambitions; he wants the power to do what he wants, to whomever he wants, and he wants good fights. He sees his arrival in Escordvi as an excellent way to make himself a big man, rather than the follower he's mostly been his whole life. Without Vegeta or Frieza in the picture, Nappa can be the one calling the shots, getting respect, money, and loot. This belies the reality that while he has aptitude in combat, he's only of average intelligence and more of a follower by nature anyway. The second someone stronger than he is turns up, Nappa's tune will change very quickly (this is why I don't foresee him becoming a captain on his own, but rather serving as muscle for a crew).
3) What are their flaws as a character? What is something they've messed up, or have done that they regret?
Again, Nappa tends to overestimate his owns strength, which while no doubt prodigious, has also made him arrogant. He's not overly intelligent, and his "plans" tend to be rudimentary, consisting of the shortest, most violent way to achieve his goals, and while capable of unleashing a great deal of power in battle, he doesn't really fight tactically. A team consisting of one Earth-born Namekian and above average human martial artists actually managed to hold Nappa at bay and wear him out long enough for Goku to arrive and cripple him, though it did result in most of their deaths to do it. His major regret is that he never followed up on rumours that Planet Vegeta wasn't actually destroyed by a meteor, but rather by Frieza himself, due to rumours circulating around the Frieza Force. He tried to bring these rumours to Vegeta, but the prince shot them down as he didn't actually care what happened to the Saiyans, and as a result, Nappa was never able to pursue them, but his pride does rankle at the thought he's being made to serve the one who killed his species.
4) Optional: What is something unique and interesting about them, or what is a fun little tidbit that sets them apart from the crowd?
Nappa is just as bald as a Great Ape as he is in his regular form. All that fur and he still can't grow any on his head. Tragic. Also, as a Super Saiyan, in lieu of hair, he's depicted with a spiky yellow beard instead.

Great Ape Transformation-As a Saiyan with his tail, Nappa is able to transform into a giant, monstrous ape by absorbing special energy called Blutz Waves, found in sunlight reflected by a moon, through his retinas. As a Great Ape, Nappa gains strength proportional to ten times his normal amount, without a loss in speed despite his enormous size (size is vague, but an adult male is able to be held in both hands by a Great Ape, as demonstrated by Goku and Vegeta during their fight). Thanks to training and experience, Nappa retains his instincts and sense of self, without slipping into a mindless berserk rage. If his tail is cut off, or the source of the Blutz Waves is cut off (like, say, if the moon is blown up), Nappa will instantly revert to his normal Saiyan form. In the case of his tail, in the event of it being severed, Nappa will lose access to his Great Ape form permanently, as it will not be able to regrow, as the biochemical glands necessary for the transformation are located in the tail. Transformation can only occur on the night of a full moon, and Nappa must spend at least a minute staring at it before he can transform; if he does not actively look at the full moon, he will not transform. He also lacks the usual tricks Saiyans invented to force the transformation, as Vegeta was holding the Power Ball that generates an artificial moon and he does not have his pod, which can project a moon.
Nappa's Great Ape form should have the same nerfs applied from his first stay in Escordvi, which were his Great Ape form being half the usual size, and only five times stronger than normal, with fatigue setting in after changing back.
Ki Manipulation-Nappa has mastered ki manipulation techniques that allow him to manipulate his body's energy for attacks and other uses; he is capable of firing blasts of energy from his palms, eyes, and mouth, as well as flight, though for nerf purposes his speed and effective flight range are limited to within ten kilometers before his energy is depleted. He cannot fly across the globe at superspeed as in canon. He has a variety of attacks that incorporate ki, the two most notable being Volcano Explosion and Giant Storm, both of which involve generating explosive amounts of ki in the immediate area. One notable deficiency is he is unable to naturally sense ki power, and seems to only have only a surface-level understanding of ki attacks; when faced with the human Krillen's Kienzan/"Destruco-Disc" technique, Nappa arrogantly readied to try and tank it, not realizing it was a cutting technique that could have very likely sliced him in half. It was only thanks to Vegeta, who did recognize the attack for what it was, yelled a warning to Nappa that he was barely able to dodge it, and survive the attack.
Zenkai Boost-Probably the biggest advantage Saiyans have, and the reason they were such a feared race of raiders and warriors, the Zenkai Boost ("Saiyan Power", loosely) is the biological ability Saiyans posses to become stronger from defeats. Their bodies adapt to damage they take and become more resistant to it, while their innate battle power increases proportionate to the extent of the damage they took.
Super Saiyan-It should be noted this is included only as a hypothetical, a possible avenue to explore (especially in the event Nappa loses his tail), and that Nappa, as with all Saiyans, currently possesses only the potential to become a Super Saiyan, and may not necessarily do so. More importantly, the material of the armour is flexible and able to adapt to a variety of body types (as many different species serve) but can also grow with Nappa in his Great Ape form to accomodate his extra size and mass (normal clothes will be torn to shreds).
Scouter-Another piece of Frieza Force tech issued to all soldiers, the Scouter is an eyepiece attached to small ear-mounted computer and scanner. The Scouter can take readings on other beings and rates their battle power, in the form of a numeric designation displayed on the eyepiece. A human farmer with a shotgun, for example, read as a power level of 4, while Nappa's Saiyan compatriot Raditz, a low-class warrior, had a power level of 1,200, and Nappa himself possess a designation of 4,000. However,power levels are bullshit Scouters are notoriously easy to fool, as methods exist to suppress power, or even just wearing weighted clothing can give inaccurate readings. High enough surges in power can overload the Scouter and cause it to explode as well. It's mostly for flavouring, I certainly won't be handing out ludicrous, meaninglessly high or low numbers to members of the cast.
Saibamen Solution-A small glass vial containing a green liquid, when poured into suitably nutrient-rich soil will result in the creation of bio-engineered creatures called "Saibamen" that were used by the Saiyans as footsoldiers and meatshields to test enemy defenses and powers. A few drops can create five or six Saibamen, who despite their short stature can be dangerous opponents. While they possess limited intelligence, Saibamen do have animalistic cunning and an all-too-Saiyan sense of cruelty. They are naturally deferential to Saiyans and will obey their orders, and can also self-detonate on command, usually withmemetic fatal results if used on normal people. Nappa was carrying the Saibaman Solution on him when they arrived on Earth, but his stock is limited. Without a way to replicate the formula, something Nappa is not able to do on his own, or someone willing to do it for him, he will not be able to replenish any Saibamen he creates and are destroyed. When the vial is used up, it's gone. In the show, Nappa was able to create six Saibamen to test Earth's heroes.
Redbull: Not a native item Nappa has, but rather a cat he had adopted and was in the process of training to be a ship's mouser during his first stay. If at all possible, I'd like for him to have Redbull back when he returns, with the cat possibly having survived as an alley cat stray and Nappa picking him back up again.

ARMADA SELECTION
I originally said Corsairs when I first apped him, but my plans changed even the first time and now I'm not so certain. The idea of Nappa undergoing a Vegeta-like redemption arc and becoming an unruly, if never completely tamed, force for good appeals, especially with the presence of Gohan and Goten, both of whom completely outclass Nappa in power and could easily hold him in check. Therefore, while he could still fit in easily with the Corsairs, I also think Paladins could work as a way to help start him on the road to reformation, so I will leave it to you mods decide where to best put him this time.
